Halfway through May and I am bummed, y'all. I follow the #memademay on Instagram and it's (understandably) really femme. I feel like it's not my scene, and that even if I manage to get my shit together and start making clothes I want to wear, it would not be welcome. (I saw some flannel that needs to be a shirt in my closet but I am also broke as a joke and cannot afford it right now, especially since it's about to get swampy in Houston.) But I am inspired to make some progress on my own wardrobe, so maybe following the hashtag isn't the worst thing I could do?
The mitts are coming together slowly, I've cast on and made it about halfway through the first cable repeat. I like the yarn a lot, but it's definitely got problems. It's tied together in several places, which means knots, and sometimes they come untied. :| Not ideal, but I'm working around it for now. I have another skein of this that I was intending to make a shawl out of, but with the current issues, I'm not so sure it would work. Wait and see, I suppose.
Minor question!
When I make my first shirt out of muslin, do I actually attach buttons? Or do everything except that because buttons are for clothes that will be worn? I'm feeling like the latter is the answer, but I am, as always, plagued by doubts.
