I think I'm ready. I've been thinking about it for a while, and the only answer I have to the issue is to frog the whole thing, wash the yarn, and start over.

The above statement is applicable to two projects. The purple shawl for J, and the accidental Slytherin blanket. I have worked on my chart reading skills for the shawl and feel I can do a far better job this time around. (by which i mean i am less likely to get lost in the pattern again) And I'm feeling like I might want to use the blanket yarn to teach myself to crochet. I've heard blankets work up much faster once I get the motions down. And it's Caron One Pound so I have doubts that it will be hurt by ripping it out many times.
