I DMed!

So I got talked into running a published adventure online for some folks I know through a fannish discord. I've never DMed before, so I was really nervous.

But then we got started and got into it, and things just flowed. Due to life nonsense, I knew I would be down one player and then another had internet issues, so I would up with two level 1 players. I scaled an encounter down! We bypassed a fight that was designed for larger groups! They had some great PC-to-PC interactions and I accidentally a shopkeeper voice. They were close to death but did not die! (Also, choosing milestone leveling means I do not have to track exp! And they were not punished for bypassing a fight, and the other players are not punished for missing a bit.) And then, we were all in the same chat for a livestream and they heaped praise upon me. I'm glad they liked the game, but did they really have to turn me into a blushmonster?

Now we get to schedule the next session, hopefully with the full party of four. And since they're in a large city, I don't really have to worry about how this person wound up in the same place as the established characters. It's not like they're all wandering in a swamp, after all.

oh no i think i liked it really a lot.
